More revelations of the activities of the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Mallam Ali Ibrahim Pantami of his past religious intolerance and extremism against the Christian faith have emerged.
According to a document obtained by the Peoples Gazette seen by FOX CHANNEL Newspaper, Pantami chaired a Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) meeting in July 13, 2010, with four main objectives.
According to the document which states “This meeting is born out of the growing antagonism, hardship, and how Christians in Nigeria are attacking and despising the religion of Allah. The worrisome issue is that the South and the west of Nigeria is predominately Christians whom Muslims are considered as animals. However, in the Northern part of Nigeria which is predominantly Muslims the Christians want to still take over”
Continuing, the document states that ” the main aim of this meeting is to: (a) Address the growth and the spread of Christianity in the North, (b) receive reports of the treatment meted against the religion of Allah in some parts of the North especially Plateau State. (C) re-strategize towards the full implementation of Jihad in Jos Plateau and as well as Kaduna. (D) The Liberation of Kaduna state””
At the meeting four prong measures were agreed that “all Islamic clergies will pay a visit to all governors of the North and traditional rulers who are Muslims and present the decisions reached to them.
“(I) They must devise policies to see that all churches built in their respective states capital are demolished to allow mosques in the city capital. Providing the christians specific place to build their churches and be called church Street. (ii ) Christians preaching in the streets in the respective states through the media and other means be regulated. ( iii ) As it was the case in Katsina State during Governor Umaru Musa Yar’adua, a ban should be place in all the Northern States governed by a Muslim on teaching of Christian Religion in Schools.
(iv ) Place a ban on Christians using the public address system during their services. These demands must be adhered and adopted by the Muslim governor for the interest of peace. They should note that we have more control of the masses and the youths. Any attempt by the Christians to disobey or revolt against the decisions shall mean fighting against the religion of Allah which the followers of Allah shall not watch but shall violently wipe away the Christians in these states”
The Muslim leaders also complained about Christians in Plateau and Kaduna and disclosed their plans to cause mayhem by enlisting Muslims in the security agencies as allies.
“The Muslim Ummah in Jos have solemnly resolved to fight the governor, his government and the entire Christians in any way possible. They shall never support this government and they will destroy any development that shall come to Plateau, even the existing ones.
“Again, they are ready for Jihad in the state as we have presently secured the needed arms. Over 3,000 foreign arms have now entered Jos and we will not vote during the governorship election,” the communique obtained by Peoples Gazette read.
Mr Pantami and his colleagues also concluded that they “shall use our men who are in the military to help us bring arms and ammunition into Kaduna.”
All efforts to reach Mr Pantami for comments on these allegations proved abortive.
However, an independent source who is a Muslim and not of the JNI but does not want his name in print corroborated the story alleging that the Minister had one time instigated bloody riot between both faith in Abubakar Tafawa University of Science and Technology (ATBUTH ) Bauchi when he was a student.
JNI which means ‘ society for the support of Islam” is an umbrella Muslim group in Nigeria which has the Sultan of Sokoto as its head.
The meeting received and reviewed report from Plateau and Kaduna States provided by Uztaz Sanusi Mohammed.
