Road accident claims 2 in Anambra

A fatal road accident on Tuesday claimed the lives of two women in Anambra State.

The accident happened by Obinetiti Akwuzu at Ntege-Awka Express Way at about 1.00pm.

The Anambra State Sector of FRSC’ Public Education Officer, Margaret B. Onabe(DRC) revealed this in a press statement.

Onabe said that the crash was between unidentified driver of 1722 Mercedes with vehicle registration number: BZR101XP and unidentified driver of a Sienna with registration number: ENU 310 CE, a private Car.

She said further that eyewitness account indicated that the crash was caused by wrongful overtaking which led to loss of control.

The Public Education Officer said that ten persons were involved in the Crash, comprisses of six male adults and four female adults.

Four male adults in the vehicles according to her sustained varying degree of injuries and were rushed to Chaira Hospital, Awkuzu for treatment and two other female adults were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty and their bodies deposited at Wisdom Murtuary Nteje by FRSC Rescue team from Nteje Unit Command.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Sector Commander of FRSC Adeoye Irelewuyi(CC) has wished the injured victims quick recovery and has also sent his condolences to the deasesed families.

The Sector Commander urged Motorists to avoid wrongful overtaken.
